Obituary

CAPPUCCIO, Antonio "Tony"- Of Malden, April 9th. Devoted husband of Rosa (Imbriano). Beloved father of Rita Kelley and her husband Daniel of Billerica and Rose Marie Conroy and her husband Michael of Stoughton. Cherished grandfather of Erica, Anthony, Jessica and Michael. Dear brother of Aldo Cappuccio of Malden. Also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral from the Carroll Funeral Home, 721 Salem Street, (Maplewood Square) MALDEN on Thursday, April 14th at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Joseph's Church, 770 Salem St., Malden at 10 o'clock. Visiting Hours in the Carroll Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-8 PM. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Tony's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
Born in Avellino, Italy to the late Michael and Michelina (Lopilato Cappuccio 82 years ago, Tony passed away at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital Saturday afternoon, surrounded by his devoted and loving family after a valiant and courageous battle with cancer. As a young man, Tony left Italy and settled in Venezuela in 1952. Leaving Venezuela in 1954 he arrived in America and settled in Malden, where he has remained to this day. For over 15 years he worked for Hub Folding Box, located in South Boston. Even after being hired by the MBTA, he continued working at Hub Box for a few years also. After more then 27 years, Tony retired from the MBTA in 1988. His retirement years provided him with additional time for his family and friends, spending winter months in Florida and extra time for one of his passions, his garden, providing a bounty of vegetables for both family and friends. A long time communicant of St. Joseph's Parish, He along with his brother operated the Spaghetti booth at the annual St. Joseph's Festival year after year and was a member of the the Italian Citizen's Club of Malden.
