Obituary

James Thomas “Tom” Ray, Jr, 79, passed away peacefully with his family by his side Friday, April 8, 2016. He was a retired clerk for the US Postal Service, a US Navy veteran, a member of the USS Boxer Association, a Flaget graduate of the class of 1953, and a member of the St. Paul Catholic Community.
He is preceded in death by his son: Patrick Lawrence Ray, parents, Mary and James Thomas Ray, Sr, brother John Ray and sister Mary Ella Isaacs.
Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years Margaret “Peggy” (Denardi) Ray; children, James Thomas “Buddy” Ray III (Margaret), Gregory Allen Ray (Ruth), Cynthia Susan McGohon (Scott), Angela Marie Finerty (Terry), Mary Michelle Ryan (Steve), and Robert Joseph Ray (Jenna). Brothers Charles Kenneth Ray, Robert Daniel Ray. Sisters Jonell Wilbert, Jeannie Levy, Barbara Ziegler, Ruth Ray, Shelly Mohr, and Janet Pike. Daughter-in-law Marcia Ray. Fifteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren.
His funeral Mass will be 10AM Tuesday at St. Paul Catholic Church, 6801 Dixie Hwy, with burial at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 1PM to 8PM on Monday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy.
