TAUNTON – Richard Joseph Lima of Taunton, husband of Corrine F. (Hayden) for the past 59 years, died at Morton Hospital surrounded by his loving family, on April 7, 2016.
He was 79.
Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Manuel and Mary C. (Cruz) Lima.
Raised and educated in Taunton, Richard later served in the U.S. Army Reserves for eight years.
A retired assembler, he was employed by Bay State Tap-Die & Cleveland Twist Drill for over 29 years. Richard enjoyed snowmobiles and motorcycles and was a member of the Road Knights of New England Chapter 1 Motor Cycle Club. A member of the Herring Runners Campers Club, he enjoyed camping, especially on Cape Cod, where he also loved to sit by the canal.
Besides his wife, he leaves three daughters, Donna Bacon, Brenda Smith and her husband Timothy and Barbara Pina, all of Taunton; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was also father to the late Darlene Harrison and the father-in-law of the late Joseph D. Pina.
Funeral Services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Thursday, April 14th at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 13th from 5 to 8 p.m.
