Casey, Faustine (Ingram), 93, passed away April 9, 2016 in Louisville.
She was born to Edgar and Lillie (Embry) Ingram in Welch’s Creek, KY.
Faustine lived a remarkable life. She survived a tornado, which blew down the house around her. She taught in a one-room schoolhouse. During WWII, she was “Rosie the Riveter”, helping to build airplane engines. She beat the odds to survive a serious burn. Later, she became one of the nation’s first women insurance underwriters. She was an employee for USF&G for 25 yrs., retiring in 1986. Faustine was a wonderful wife and mother. She was also a remarkable cook, especially known for her pies. Faustine was a Baptist by faith.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 59yrs., Ollie Casey; a daughter: Sharon Ann Clark, and her siblings Arthur, Geneva, Daymon, Osco, and Dale.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Carole Casey-Woodford (Dan), David A. Casey M.D. (Valerie), Mark J. Casey (Jennifer), Kevin O. Casey (Emily Hudson); eight grandchildren: Mathew Clark, Susan Noonan, Megan, Jonathan, Brian, Nicholas, Alexandria, and Cameron Casey; three great-grandchildren: Ruby Noonan, David and Charles Casey; a son-in-law, William Clark; three sisters-in-law: Sarah and Wilma Ingram, and Jane Casey; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Services will be Thursday at 1:00PM at Owen Funeral Home 5317 Dixie Hwy. Burial will be at Louisville Memorial Gardens West, with visitation Wednesday 1:00-8:00PM, and after 10:00AM Thursday till time of service.
