Obituary

DIFRANCO, ERIN MARIE (BYRNE) passed suddenly on April 8, 2016. Survived by her loving daughter Makayla DiFranco, her loving mother Marilyn “Merry” Byrne and her devoted and loving father, the late James Byrne of South Boston.

Also survived by loving aunts and uncles John and Kathleen Muldowney, Edward and Casey Byrne as well as Kevin Byrne all from South Boston. Jerry and Donna O’Neill of Georgetown, Leo and Linda Altovino of Tewksbury, John Byrne and his partner Robert Hurley of Arlington. Stanley Wienkus and his late wife Maryanne of Walpole. Beverly “Bunny” and Russel Ward of Weymouth and Jackie Wienkus of Quincy. Also survived by many loving cousins, co-workers, friends and her companion Jim Podolske of South Boston.

Erin was born and raised in South Boston. Graduated from the University of Massachusetts and worked for the Old Town Trolley Company of Boston. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours at the Casper Funeral Home in South Boston on Wednesday from 4-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday at 11 AM at St. Monica’s Church in South Boston. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Makayla DiFranco’s Education Trust care of East Boston Savings Bank located at 430 West Broadway in South Boston.
