Georgette Marie Birdsall, age 87, entered into rest on April 8, 2016 at her home at Sun Terrace in Prosser. She was born on August 6, 1928 to George and Alice Lambert in Grandview where she was raised and educated. Upon graduating from high school she attended St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing in Yakima where she received her degree, graduating as a Registered Nurse. Georgette and Lloyd Birdsall were married on August 23, 1952 in Prosser where the couple made their home and raised two sons.
Georgette worked as an RN at Prosser Memorial Hospital where she was Director of Nursing for over forty years until retiring in the late 1990’s. After retiring, however, she would fill in at the hospital if needed and was in charge of scheduling for several years. She enjoyed watching sports, doing crossword puzzles and camping with her family. She was a devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Georgette is survived by her sons, Brian Birdsall and his wife, Irene of Wenatchee and Brent Birdsall and his wife, Lill of Woodland, CA; her grandson, Derik Birdsall and wife, Anel of Woodland, CA; her sisters, Marcelle, Laurette and Alice; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Birdsall; her grandson, Brandon Birdsall; and her brother, Lionel Lambert.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Sacred Heart Church in Prosser. Concluding services and burial will follow at the Prosser Cemetery.
