Carol Ann Block, 72, of Mystic died Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London. She is survived by her beloved husband Frederick Block.
She was born on February 22, 1944 in Dover, New Hampshire, the daughter of Daniel and Mary (Harrington) Marshall. She grew up in the area, graduating from New London High School.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Fredric Block of Vernon, her daughter Michelle Duba of Groton and 4 grandchildren, Kyle, Nicolas, Daniel, and Chad. She is also survived by her brother Daniel Marshall, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her daughter, Mary Ellen Pestena, brothers John Rodden and Joey Marshall, her sisters Jean Denny, Nancy Curtis and Mary Jane Marble, and grandchild Gabriel.
Her family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday, April 14, from 6 to 8pm with a vigil prayer being held at 6:30 at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Mystic. There will also be an after-service reception at the Captain Daniel Packer Inne from 8-10pm.
