Richard D. LoConte of Medford died on Thursday, April 7, at De Rham Hospice Home of Cambridge. A lifelong Medford resident, he was the son of Veronica (Higgins) LoConte of Medford and the late Anthony LoConte. Richard was a graduate of Arlington Catholic H.S. where he was captain of the hockey team that won the Catholic State Championship. He later attended Bentley University. Richard was employed as an accountant for the Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority.
He was the cherished brother of Robert G. LoConte of Marshfield, Jean Metcalfe and her husband John of Toronto, and the loving uncle of Leah LoConte, Brendan, Sean, Christopher and Grace Metcalfe. Richard was the God-father of Brendan Metcalfe, Beth and Emma Suranie of Cummings, Georgia, and is also survived by many dear friends and beloved dog Disney.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Monday, April 11, at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday, April 10, from 4 through 8 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
