Donald A. Bernier, 68, of Hanson, MA passed away on April 6, 2016 after a courageous journey of medical complications.
Born in Fitchburg, MA in 1948, he was the only child of the late Clyde and Louise (Rivers) Bernier. Don was a graduate of Salem State College in 1970 and held numerous post-graduate degrees. He taught at Stoughton High School for 35 years. Because of his love of music, he also enjoyed working summers for the last 16 years at the Blue Hills Bank Pavilion in Boston. Don was an avid skier and mountain biker.
He was the devoted husband of Kathleen (Sperandio) Bernier for 43 years. He leaves behind his daughters, Kate and her husband David Sutton of Abington, as well as Suzanne and her husband TJ Blinn of Marshfield. Dodo, as he was affectionately called, will be missed by his beloved grandchildren, David and Erin Sutton. Don also leaves behind many friends and relatives.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Services on Tuesday, April 12th, at 10 a.m. from Blanchard Funeral, Plymouth St (Rte. 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 11:00AM in the St. Joseph the Workers Church, Hanson. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00—8:00PM. Burial will be private.
