Ralph S. Teixeira, 86, of New Bedford died April 3, 2016 at home after a long illness. He was the husband of the late Maura J. (Perreira) Teixeira.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Joseph Rose Teixeira and Dorothy (Silva) Salley, he lived in Boston for 20 years before returning to New Bedford.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
Mr. Teixeira was formerly employed as a lithographer for Typographical House in Boston for many years.
He was a member of the Cape Verdean Ultramarine Band Club.
Survivors include six children, Valerie Teixeira Smith, Corinne Teixeira, Ralph Teixeira, Jr., Ronald Cruz, Julio Cruz, and John Cruz; his siblings, Julia Teixeira, Caroline Salley, Cindy Salley, Neil Salley, Don Salley, and James Salley, Jr.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
His Funeral will be held on Monday April 11, 2016 at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by his Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM.
