Augustus E. Johnson, 72, of Manchester died July 1, 2005 at Catholic Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Born in Calhoun, Kentucky on April 27, 1933 he was the son of Haynes and Ruby (Carson) Johnson.
He served as a Staff Sergeant in the US Army during the Korean conflict.
Mr. Johnson worked in construction and more recently as a truck driver for Weaver of Hooksett where he had been employed for 3 years.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the New Hampshire Fish and Game.
Family members include his wife of 20 years Betty Johnson of Manchester; 3 sons, George E. Johnson and Durand L. Johnson both of Manchester, John C. Bryant of Franklin, NH; 2 daughters, Jackie Taylor of Owensboro, KY, Samantha Bryant of Manchester; 3 sisters, Ernell C. Clardy of Newburgh, IN, Tura Anne Jones of Owensboro, Kentucky and Elaine Johnson of Chicago, IL.; 2 half brothers, Joe Tarwell and Cleo Carson both of Kentucky; 20 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
