Gloria B. Nassiff DeLande, 86, returned to her heavenly home on April 2, 2016 after a valiant battle with a long illness. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.
Gloria was blessed with a large and loving family. She married her best friend and devoted husband, the late Clyde DeLande in Trinidad & Tobago. Though she had no children of her own, she helped raise her great nephews and nieces with patience and humility. Together, she and Clyde often took them on family trips to see the natural beauty of the states of Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
Gloria was fun loving and enjoyed music and dancing. She was especially fond of showing off her moves at parties and the calypso music of Trinidad and Tobago really got her moving. She was kind and soft-spoken, and always had time to answer a question or make light of a troubling situation. She is dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her creator.
Gloria is survived by her nieces and nephews from all of her siblings. She is preceded in death by her brothers John and Alec and her sisters, Rita, Joyce and Theresa.
Services will be held at Fournier and Fournier, 99 Cumberland Street, Woonsocket, R.I. from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on April 7. The family gratefully accepts your prayers, condolences and memories HERE
