James E. Fleming, 85, of Westport, MA formerly of Wellesley, MA, died Monday, April 4, 2016 at home. He was the husband of the late Carolyn E. (Ward) Fleming. Born in Boston, he was son of the late James and Lillian (Murphy) Fleming. A 1954 graduate of Boston College, he was a mortgage broker until his retirement. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. Mr. Fleming was an avid football and college basketball fan.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather and loving brother, he is survived by a son: James E. "Jeff" Fleming, Jr., of Walpole, MA; 2 daughters: Julie M. Fleming of Westport, MA and Carolyn M. Fruci and her husband Jeff of Westport, MA; a brother: Donald J. Fleming of Mattapoisett, MA; and 2 grandchildren: Michael and Ryan Fruci.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, April 8, 2016 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony's Church, Mattapoisett, MA at 11:00 A.M.
Calling hours Thursday 5 - 7 P.M.
Interment will be private.
