Dorothy J. (Sands) Gay, 91, of Natick, died Thursday, March 31, 2016 at her home.
She is survived by two daughters Maxine L. Coyle of Cambridge and Francine C. Gay of Natick, four grandchildren, Shannon, Heather and Caitlin Coyle and Joseph Schifferdecker and four great-grandchildren Avery Murphy, Silas and Annabel Grant and Owen Davco.
She is also survived by two sisters, Barbara “Bib” LeMay of Holliston and Betty Sands, two nephews Lyle and Lee LeMay and several other nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her former husband and beloved friend Franklin P. Gay, her sister Mona Dennis and her brothers, Lawrence, Harry and John Sands.
Born in Medway on April 29, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Max and Bessie (Emery) Sands.
Mrs. Gay was a resident of Natick for over 50 years.
Before her retirement, she worked at Haemonetics in Braintree for many years and had previously worked at Parker Products and Lashette in Natick.
Mrs. Gay enjoyed doing artwork and painting and was an avid reader and gardener.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend graveside services on Friday, April 29 at Evergreen Cemetery in West Medway at 1:30 p.m.
