David K. Hobbs, Sr., 63, of Plymouth, died Sunday, April 3, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the adoring husband of Patricia (Charlebois); they had been married 42 years. David was a 1971 graduate of Brockton High School, and had worked for Bay State Gas Company, AFL-CIO Local 273 for 43 years.
David loved hanging out with his grandkids, fishing for whatever he could catch, speaking words of wisdom in his garage and The Three Stooges.
In addition to his wife, David is survived by his daughter Keri and her husband Steven Sibley of Matthews, North Carolina; his son David, Jr. and his wife Erin of Hampton, New Hampshire; 6 grandchildren, Taylor, Owen and Carter Sibley and Olivia, Stevie and Cooper Hobbs; his mother Frances Hobbs of Halifax; his brother Stephen Hobbs of East Bridgewater; three sisters, Kathleen Balint of Plymouth, Ellen Fryer of Halifax and Barbara Hobbs of Plymouth; and several nieces and nephews; he was predeceased by his father, Robert Kenneth Hobbs.
Visiting hours at Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett Street in Pembroke, Thursday, April 7 from 4:00-8:00p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 8 at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 580 Monponsett Street in Halifax.
