Margaret Teresa Roy, 92, of Berlin passed away at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital at 11:15 AM on April 3rd 2016. Margaret was born January 10th, 1924 in Berlin, NH, the daughter of Frank Kilbride and Mary “Minnie” McGinnis. She graduated from Berlin High School. She was engaged to Ronald Roy of Berlin in 1943. While he served in Europe during World War II, Margaret worked in a parachute factory in Manchester, Conn. They returned to Berlin and married on April 25th, 1946.
Margaret was a homemaker. She loved her children, grandchildren and especially her six great-grandchildren. She loved word puzzles, reading the paper and watching the news. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends at her camp at Akers Pond in Errol, NH. She loved to walk the road with her dog, Gizmo. They were a familiar sight to all the residents.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald, her sons Richard of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada, Ron of Berlin and his companion, Sharon Penney of Franconia, NH, daughters Barbara Ann and husband Pierre Lessard, Cathy Roy Tessarolo and husband, Mike, all of Dallas, Texas, grandsons Joshua Roy and his wife Anna of Essex Jct, Vermont, Ahren Roy and fiancé Tash Ridley of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, granddaughter Coco Reinhart and her husband, John, of Wheatridge, CO, great-grandchildren, Charlie, Matheus, Lucien, Jack, Opal Margaret and Iris Teresa, numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her mother and father, her brothers, Dennis, Francis and Irving, her sister, Barbara and her grandson, Nathan.
There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday April 18, at 1 PM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Nursing and Rehab Center or to Catholic Charities.
