ARLINGTON – Mark J. DeRoin, 53, of Arlington, Massachusetts and a longtime resident of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Friday, April 1, 2016. He passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by all the memories he loved and cherished. He was born in Holyoke on October 11, 1962, a beloved son of Theresa J. (Daudelin) Deroin of Chicopee and the late Robert W. Deroin who was Called Home on November 14, 1995. He was raised in Chicopee and graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School. He later graduated from the Connecticut School of Broadcasting. Mark was the Editor and Founder of The Montucky Review, an online literary journal as well as the Editor for The Bookends Review. He was a widely published writer and poet whose work can be found around the world, online and in print under the pen name A.g. Synclair. Mark was also recently nominated for the coveted Pushcart Prize for exceptional poetry. Besides his mother, he leaves his four children, Connor Deroin of Westfield, Kelcey Deroin, Evan Deroin and Madison Deroin, all of Springfield; his partner and best friend, Heather M. Brager of Arlington; his brother, Michael R. DeRoin of Chicopee; his nephew, Private Jeremy DeRoin, US Army, of Belchertown; and several uncles, aunts, cousins and many friends. His relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, April 8, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 6:30 p.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
