Virginia E. (McClure) Cote, 85, a former resident of Marblehead, MA, passed away Friday, April 1, 2016 at Havenwood Heritage Heights in Concord, NH, following a long illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Henry J. Cote.
Born and raised in Marblehead, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Gertrude (Muldowney) McClure. A graduate of Marblehead High, prior to her marriage she worked as a bookkeeper for several Marblehead businesses. Following her marriage to Henry in 1950, she devoted herself to the care of their family. Shortly after Henry’s passing, Virginia began working as a volunteer coordinator for North Shore Elder Services. She moved to Concord from Marblehead six years ago. She was a former member of Ste. Anne Parish of Salem, MA.
Virginia is survived by her three children, Rick H. Cote and his wife Susette L. Milnor of Lee, NH, Diane M. Cote-Burk and her husband James K. Burk of Bow, NH and Mark H. Cote of Bozeman, MT; three grandchildren, Nicole Martin, Shawn Cote-Burk & Elise Cote-Milnor; and two great-grandchildren, Molly and Henry Martin. She was predeceased by her sister, Gertrude Stanton.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 from 8:30 to 10:30 A.M., at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem to be followed by her funeral mass in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem at 11:00 A.M. Her burial will follow in Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead.
