John F. Fiske, age 47, a lifelong resident of Mansfield, passed away following a period of failing health, on Friday, April 1, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Attleboro.
Born in Attleboro, MA on November 22, 1968, he was the loving son of Thomas A. Fiske, Sr. and his wife Barbara of Mansfield and Marlene L. (Wills) Fiske of Wareham.
John grew up in town and was a 1987 graduate of Mansfield High School. He furthered his studies, attending technical school for diesel mechanics.
His last place of business was as a foreman at Jofran Furniture in Norfolk and previously had worked for several years as an auto mechanic.
John’s hobbies and interests included cooking, NASCAR racing, playing poker, attending yard sales, fishing, indoor gardening and cheering on the New England Patriots. He will be sadly missed by all whose lives he touched.
In addition to his loving parents, he is survived by his dear brothers Thomas A. Fiske, Jr. and his wife Celine of St. Albans, Vermont, James D. Fiske and his wife Petra of Williamsburg, Virginia, Kevin G. Fiske and his wife Susan of Pinellas Park, Florida and Darryl C. Smart of Mansfield. He is also survived by his cherished aunts and uncles, including Howard Fiske and his wife Margaret of Mansfield and Brad Wills and his wife Marianne of Mansfield. He was the dear friend of Rose Parker-Kersey and her daughter Rose Parker. He was the adoring
“Grampy” of Jocelyn and Alanna and is also survived by his loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Tuesday, April 5th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
Funeral services and burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, John’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the American Heart Association, 300 5th Ave., Waltham, MA 01701.
