Elizabeth L. “Betty” Norcott, 100, of Derry, NH, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Worcester, MA on June 21, 1915, a daughter of the late Homer and Katheryn (Bosse) Brayton. She had been a long time resident of Milton, MA before moving to Derry ten years ago. She was a very generous, kind- hearted woman. Betty enjoyed learning about the people in her life and keeping up with all the things that were important to them. She loved to read and do crossword puzzle, read her Bible daily and enjoyed memorizing Bible psalms well into her 90’s. Betty will be remembered as the loving matriarch who held her family together.
She is survived by her four beloved children, Katheryn Cuneo and her husband Larry, Robert Norcott and his wife Kathie, William Norcott and his wife Hsiu, and Deborah Hamilton and her husband Gary; ten grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and her brother, David F. Brayton. Betty was predeceased by her husband Lewis H. Norcott, Jr. and her son Lewis H. Norcott, III.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 11:00am in the Calvary Bible Church, 145 Hampstead Rd, Derry NH, with a reception to follow. The burial was on Thursday, April 7th at 11:00am in the Milton Cemetery, 211 Centre St, Milton, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gideon’s International (Manchester NH Camp), 5 Westerly Drive, Derry, NH 03038.
