Obituary

BEVERLY: Joseph Servizio, 86, died Friday, April 1, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Sylvia (Gentile) Servizio.
Born in Pontecorvo, Italy on September 19, 1929, he was the son of the late Paul and Natalina (Turchetta) Servizio. He was a lifelong resident of Beverly and had attended Beverly public schools. A U.S. Navy veteran, he proudly served his country during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on April 1, 1953.
Joseph was employed as a stationary steam engineer, 3rd class at the United Shoe Machinery Corp. in Beverly for over twenty years before his retirement.
In addition to his wife of sixty-one years, he is survived by his daughter, Pamela Servizio and her fiancé, Robert MacArthur; two sons, Stephen Servizio and his companion, Sheila Leek and Michael Servizio and his wife, Mary Jean; five grandchildren, Jennifer Beurekjian, Melissa Sullivan, Kimberly Servizio, Nicole Medeiros and Anthony Servizio; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Latini and Catherine McLean; a brother, Bruno Servizio and his wife, Grace; beloved dog, “Cody” and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his brother, Peter Servizio.
His funeral service will be held on Monday in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot Street, Beverly at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 2 – 6 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Interment will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beverly. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the National Kidney Foundation, 85 Aster Ave., Suite 2, Norwood, MA 02062.
