71, passed away March 31,2016 at Baptist Health East. Mr. Downard was born in Louisville, KY and was retired from Teamsters Union #89 and was a former driver for the old A&P Co. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of The Pleasant Grove Baptist Church,a member of Southern Knights of Central KY Car Club, and the V.V. A. Preceded in death by his parents,Clarence and Mary Elizabeth Downard, and a brother, Kenneth Downard. Survived by his wife, Ann Barnett (Bratcher) Downard; children, Karen Queen (Stuart), Becky Hughes (James), Kimberly Ann Johnson, Douglas Johnson (Christine); sisters, Pat Higdon (Ronald), Mary June Fitzpatrick; grandchildren, Michele (Stephen), Eric (Nicole), Brittany, Megan, Dylan, Amber, Addie, and one great grandchild, Stella. Funeral Services will be at The Owen Funeral - Jeffersontown, 9318 Taylorsville Rd, Monday, April 4, 2016, 1:00pm with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park.
