Obituary

Carmen R Barrasso, of Ware, passed away peacefully, after a short battle with cancer on Thursday March 31,2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 74.

Raised in Medford, he was the son of the late Peter A and Carmella (DiMinico) Barrasso. He was a graduate of Medford High School and served in the United States Army. Carmen was a family man and cherished his children, grandchildren and great grandson.


Carmen was a life-long member and former business agent of L.U. #534 of Boston. He served as the Vice President of the Cement Mason International Union and recently served as the Funds Administrator for Cement Masons L.U. #262 in Bronx, New York.

He was the beloved husband of LaVerne (Santillo) Barrasso of Ware. Carmen was the devoted father of Richard Barrasso and his wife Michelle of FL, Rhonda Boudreau of Hudson, NH, Robert Barrasso and his wife Nicole of Tewksbury, Peter Barrasso and his wife Rachael of Bellingham, John Ruane, Scott Ruane and his wife Pam all of Haverhill, Dan Ruane and his wife Marisa of Charlestown, WV, Amy Lyons of Plastow, NH, Kim Ruane of Medford, and Kelly Neville and her husband Chuck of Franklin. Adored grandfather of 23 grandchildren and one great-grandson. He is preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Gina Maria and 2 grandchildren. He was the cherished brother of Barbra Scopa of Medford and Geraldine Taranti of Stoneham.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Monday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass from St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 4-8 PM.

Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
