Margery “Grace” Allen Cone, 77, of Ocilla passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Rev. Ike Thomas and Rev. Ronnie Howell officiating. Mrs. Cone will be laid to rest at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Sardis Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Colquitt County. The family will receive friends Friday, April 1, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Members of Mrs. Cone’s family will serve as pallbearers.
Born January 10, 1939 in Chula, Mrs. Cone was the daughter of the late Jessie Allen and Annie Lee Coker Allen. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George John “G. J.” Cone; two sons, Leland Nicholes and Timmy Cone; three brothers, Lester Coker, Howard Allen and Rex Allen; two sisters, Irene Wood and Geraldine Cherry; and a grandson, Stuart Nicholes. She was a retired care-giver for the elderly.
Mrs. Cone is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Rev. Ike Thomas of Irwin County and Sheila and Billy Hogan of Tifton; two daughters-in-law, Kathy Cone of Tifton and Haiby Nicholes of Juliette; one brother, Gene Allen of Tifton; three sisters, Martha Dillard and Betty Daniel, both of Tifton and Carolyn Strickland of Lanier County; five grandchildren and their spouses, Trae and Mandy Thomas, Scottie Hogan, Twan and Mae Golden, Stephanie Nicholes and Stacey Nicholes; and eleven great-grandchildren.
