Obituary

Frank ‘Papa’ Rofino, 85, of Franklin, passed away on March 29th surrounded by his family following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Claire M. (Dangelo) Rofino, the love of his life, with whom he would have celebrated 62 years of marriage this May.
Born in Milford on September 6th, 1930, the son of the late Joseph and Grace (Grillo) Rofino, Frank was a lifelong Franklin resident.
A mason, Frank worked for many years out of Local 7. Following his retirement, he operated his own masonry business in the Franklin area. His hard work provided his five daughters the opportunity to pursue professional education.
Frank’s family was his life; his proudest moments centered on the time he spent with them. Frank enjoyed frequent family excursions to Disneyworld and Cape Cod; he took great pleasure in watching his children’s and grandchildren’s many accomplishments. When not with his family, he could be found having coffee with his friends at the local McDonald’s.
He proudly served as a paratrooper during the Korean War with the Army’s “All-American” 82nd Airborne Division.
In addition to family and country, Frank’s faith remained with him throughout his life – providing him the foundation for how he lived his life.
In addition to his wife, Frank is survived by his children: Karen Rofino-Adams and her husband Gary of Shrewsbury; Susan Jackson and her husband Alan of Shrewsbury; Kimberly Rofino –Badeau of Bellingham; Kellyann Rofino Helle of Bellingham; and Angela Gordon and her husband Matt of Franklin.
He also leaves his seven grandchildren: Frank, Ashley, Stephanie, Anthony, Luciano, Victoria Rose, and Nicholas.
His funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 2 in St. Mary’s Church, Franklin at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Calling hours are omitted.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the Disabled American Veterans of Massachusetts, State House Room 546, Boston, MA 02133.
