Mrs. Carmela H. (DiLorenzo) Quick, a lifelong resident of Medford and beloved wife of Clifford R. Quick, passed away at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford on Monday afternoon, March 28, 2016. She was 69 years old.
Born in Medford, Massachusetts, on June 21, 1946, she was the beloved daughter of the late Pasquale and Sula (Holmes) DiLorenzo. Mrs. Quick was a graduate of Medford High School and the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. She was employed as a teacher by the Peabody Public School system for more than 38 years. In her spare time, Carmela enjoyed camping, was an avid reader. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Medford and taught Sunday School for many years. She also participated in many church activities. She will be dearly missed.
Besides her beloved husband, Clifford, she is survived by her her loving children; Thomas R. and his wife Julie A. Quick of Rowley and Jennifer A. and her husband Sven R. Overberg of Medford, brother; James and his wife Nancy DiLorenzo of Medford, grandchildren; Christopher, Gabriel and Hunter and several nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Service will be celebrated in the First Baptist Church, 29 Oakland Street, Medford on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Friday, April 1, 2016, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment will be held in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
