Anthony P. DeCologero passed away at home in the company of his loving family, after a brief illness. He was 80. A life-long Somerville resident, Anthony worked as an electrical draftsman throughout his life. Devoted to his wife and large family, he enjoyed the outdoors and hunting. He raised hunting dogs and enjoyed the occasional visit to Suffolk Downs.
The beloved husband of Theresa (Russo), he was a devoted father to William DeCologero and his wife Lidia of Salem, NH, Joseph DeCologero and his wife Toni of FL, Anthony DeCologero and his wife Gael of Haverhill, David DeCologero and his wife Patrizia of Reading, Teresa Plati and her husband Gregory of Peabody, Christina Julian and her husband Kevin of Lynnfield. He is lovingly survived by 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The dear brother of William and Paul DeCologero, Josie Nowicki, Jeanette McCoy, Marie Parziale the late John and Robert DeCologero, Connie Gaynor, Phyllis Pesce and Gloria Skutel, he leaves many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Saturday April 2nd at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Ann Church, 399 Medford Street, Somerville, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at St. Michael Cemetery, Boston. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit at the funeral home on Friday 4 - 8 PM.
