Vondalee (Gredvig) Trate, 65, of Buddington Road, Groton, died Thursday, June 30th at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Minnesota on May 24, 1940 the oldest child to Robert and Lucille (Thompson) Gredvig. She was employed as a server at The Days Inn Restaurant in Mystic before retiring in 2002.
Mrs. Trate enjoyed gardening, sewing, entertaining and her family. She was also known for her accomplished culinary skills.
She is survived by her children, Kelly Ramos of Groton, Don Ramos of WA, and Mike Trate of TX; her siblings, Robert and Dale Gredvig of CA, Mark and Richard Gredvig and Cindy Kreider, all of PA, 9 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Merrill E. Trate Jr; a son, Bryan Trate, and two siblings, Jerry Gredvig and Mardell Huward.
A Graveside Funeral Service will be conducted at Elm Grove Cemetery, Rte. 27, Mystic on Friday at 2:30pm. There are no visiting hours. The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic is assisting the family.
