FLEMING, Richard J. of West Roxbury, formerly of Mission Hill died unexpectedly at home on March 27th. Born December 19, 1963 to loving parents Mary Rose (Keane) and John R. Fleming. Loving Father of Juliana, Richard Jr., and Christian. Richard cherished the comfort of his children who were always the center of his life. Dear brother of Robert and his wife Grace of Hyde Park; Lynn (Bearden) and her husband Harold of Lincoln, New Hampshire; Russell and his wife Brigitte of Roslindale; Audrey of Canton; Raymond and his wife Lisa of Needham; Dawn (Gregory) and her husband Stephen of Mt. Vernon, New Hampshire and Kenneth and his wife Karen of East Walpole. Loving uncle of many nieces and nephews. Former husband of Emilia (Lopez) of West Roxbury. Richard was a proud member of the Boston Police Department for more than 25 years having served most of his career in the Brighton District as a patrol officer. Richard was honored on numerous occasions by the many members of public he came into contact on a daily basis. “To Protect and Serve” was his motto. His work on the street reflected highly on his city and all his fellow brother officers on the Boston Police Force. Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home 2055 Centre St. West Roxbury, Saturday April 2nd at 9AM followed by a Funeral Mass in Holy Name Church at 10AM. Visiting Hours Friday 3 – 8PM. Relatives, friends and brother officers invited. Interment Mt. Benedict Cemetery.
