Obituary

Lillian A. (Rubini) Rickard, 88, of Walpole, died March 28 in Norwood Hospital.
Born in Walpole, April 20,1927, the daughter of the late Frank and Elisa (Penza) Rubini, Mrs. Rickard was a lifelong Walpole resident having been born and living in the same home until her death.
A graduate of Walpole High School, Lillian had been a clerk at the Norfolk County Agricultural School in Walpole for over 30 years.
During the Korean War Lillian had worked in Washington D.C. for the Marine Corps at the Department of Defense in the photographic research department.
After she retired she became involved in the affairs and was very active in the action of the Town of Walpole to keep the sludge from the Boston Big Dig out of Walpole.
Lillian enjoyed reading and baking.
She is survived by her children, Stephen Rickard and his wife Jill of North Attleboro and Judy Engstrom and her husband Bruce of West Bridgewater.
She is also survived by her sister Frances Rubini of Walpole and was the sister of the late Philip and Daniel Rubini.
Lillian is also survived b her grandchildren, Kristen Lynds, Bryan Engstrom, Matthew Engstrom, Meghan Rickard, Nathan Rickard and Stephanie Carpeno and her great-grandchildren, Jared Lynds, Sydney Lynds, Shane Lynds and Ellie Engstrrom.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, April 1 from the Ginley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneralhiomes.com) 892 Main Street, Walpole at 9:15 followed by a funeral mass in Blessed Sacrament Church at 10:00.
Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, South Walpole.
Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 4-7 p m.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
