Obituary


Robert H. Kimball, 80, died Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at home. His wife of 40 years, Lucille (Paterson) Kimball, died in 1989. He leaves 2 daughters, Patricia A. Jolin of Boylston and Roberta G. Merrill of York, ME.; 2 brothers and 2 sisters, Allan Kimball of Troy, NY, Arlene Powers of S. Windsor, CT, and Jean Dalton and Edward Kimball both of Boylston; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. A sister, Mary Johnson, predeceased him.

He was born in Worcester, son of Henry and Rosabele (Hastings) Kimball. As a Captain in the U.S. Army Air Corps, he was a squadron leader in the 432nd Fighter Squadron 475th Fighter Group during WWII where he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. Mr. Kimball worked at Wyman-Gordon as a die sinker for 40 years. He was the Fire Chief in the town of Boylston for 10 years and was a member of the American Legion Post and the First Congregational Church of Boylston.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 5, in Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St., Worcester. A calling hour will be held at 10:00 a.m. followed by an 11:00 a.m. funeral service. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church of Boylston, 10 Church St., Boylston, MA 01505.
