Olivia Caroline Cox, 22, of Snellville, died Saturday, March 26, 2016, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Clarke County, Georgia.
A celebration of Olivia’s life will be held 3:30 PM, Thursday, March 31, 2016, at Ocilla United Methodist Church in Ocilla with the Rev. Jay Roberson officiating. Michael Neil McNeely, Kalee Brooke Glenn, and Nick Benzor will share memories of Olivia. Interment will immediately follow the service in the Ocilla Cemetery. All are invited to visit with the family in the Social Hall of Ocilla United Methodist Church from 1 until 3 Thursday afternoon.
Olivia was born July 10, 1993, in Tifton, Georgia, to Dana Turk and Robert Franklin Cox, Jr. She was a 2011 graduate of South Gwinnett High School and was currently a student at Georgia Gwinnett College. Olivia was a free spirit and a true flower child, born into a different generation. She had a huge heart and was kind to all she met. Still seeking her path in life, she knew she wanted to help people. She loved nature and music and enjoyed capturing the world around her in photography.
She is survived by her mother, Dana Turk of Snellville; her father, Robert Franklin Cox, Jr. of Brunswick; maternal grandmother, Betty Canady Turk of Snellville; paternal grandmother, Barbara Reid Hamilton of Tifton; aunts and uncles: Jerry & Angie Dill, Melissa Norton, Melanie & Skip Cousins, Allison & Jeff Powell, and Elizabeth & Ryan Perry; and many cousins including Michael, Jake, and Kelly Dill, James and Rebecca Norton, Reid and Layton Powell, and Miles and Sutton Perry. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers: John Halbert Turk and Robert Franklin Cox. Olivia’s best friend, Megan Smith, also died alongside Olivia in Saturday’s accident. They were always together in life, may they now rest in peace together.
