Francis H. Smith, 93, passed away at his home in Greenville, on Sunday, March 27, 2016 after a long illness. He was the husband of the late Dorothy E. (Callahan) Smith.
He graduated from LaSalle Academy and was a member of the US AirCorps during WWII.
He and his wife, Dorothy, raised their four children in Cranston where he lived for many years. He retired from the US Postal Service and made his home in Englewood, FL.
He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Smith of Cambridge, MA and his sons, Dennis Smith and his wife, Eileen of Smithfield and Timothy Smith and his wife, Danielle of Exeter, as well as seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Francis H. Smith, Jr, his brother, Fred Smith and his sister Mary Richard
His visitation will be held Friday 4-7pm in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. His funeral will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
