Eva (DeMello) Dupont, 98, of New Bedford died March 28, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness.
She was the wife of the late Romeo W. Dupont, and daughter of the late Joseph S. and Linda (Lebeau) DeMello.
Mrs. Dupont was born in Fairhaven and had lived in New Bedford all of her life.
She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church.
Mrs. Dupont was formerly employed as a spot welder at Aerovox Corporation for over 40 years until her retirement.
She enjoyed traveling, bingo and most of all, she treasured the time with her family.
Survivors include a son, Ronald Dupont and his wife Barbara of Loxahatchee, Florida; a daughter, Carol Morrison and her husband Robert of New Bedford; 2 sisters, Jean Cornell of New Bedford and Doris Pimental of Pennsylvania; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Joseph Dupont and William Dupont and sister of the late Evelyn Carr, Joseph DeMello, Mary Gracia and Emily Santos.
Her Funeral will be held on Saturday at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Church at 9 AM.
