WAYLAND: Peggy Jean (Wright) Crocker, 87, died peacefully and comfortably surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, March 24 2016 following a period of declining health.
She was born in Temperance Hall, TN on June 3, 1928 the daughter of the late B.T. Wright and Sallie Ione ( Robinson) Wright.
Peggy is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 63 years, Hilary B. Crocker of Wayland. Beloved mother of Steven G. Crocker and his wife Lynda K. Crocker of Framingham and Lisa J. Crocker of East Waterboro, ME. Cherished grandmother of William Rogers and his wife Brittney of Barrington, NH and Michael Crocker of Framingham. Sister of Patricia “Pat” Dyer of Wayland and Sally Wright of Charlottesville, VA.
Peggy has been a resident of Wayland for over 62 years. She spent her childhood in Tennessee and Florida before moving to the Boston area. She received her BA from Simmons College.
Peggy was a longtime member of the Framingham Country Club and an accomplished golfer. She and Hilary have been members of the Community United Methodist Church and she was active in the affairs of the church including the choir, church fairs and the Flora Lewis Circle. She and her husband were the owners, for many years, of the Oak Street Pharmacy in Natick. Peggy was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Visitations will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Wayland.
Her funeral services will be held on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Community United Methodist Church, 5 Damon St (corner of Damon St and Route 27), Wayland.
Interment will follow in the Crocker family lot in Lakeview Cemetery in Wayland.
