James Meredith Niccum
July 22, 1922- March 24, 2016

At 93 years of age, Jim joined the love of his life in heaven.

Born July 22, 1922 in Anderson, to Kenneth and Myrtle (Cowgill) Niccum. He enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps in 1943 and served as a radio man during WW II. While stationed in Essex, England, he met and fell in love and married his wife, Edna.

At the end of the war, he returned to Anderson and worked for the Central Indiana Gas Company for 45 years. After retirement, he worked part-time for Enterprise Rentals and St. John's hospital in the maintenance department as an outside contractor. He enjoyed playing euchre with friends and family, especially with his favorite partner, Derrick.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Edna (Payne) Niccum, parents, one sister, Eleanor Minge, and two brothers, Eugene and Lawrence Niccum.

He is survived by two sons; David (Deanna) Niccum and Bruce Niccum, a daughter, Faye (Mark) Chadwick; grandchildren, Angela Campbell, Amy Williams, Taina (Matt) DeShon, James M. Niccum, Matthew (Carena) Dill and Shawn Dill; great grandchildren, Derrick (Kylie) Campbell, Taylor Campbell, Ryan and Blake Williams; Addison DeShon, Tristen Niccum, Aubry and Bryson Dill and a great-great grandson, Maddux Campbell.

Funeral services will be 12 noon on Wednesday March 30, 2016, at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor John Hackney of Cross Roads United Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites by VFW Post 266

Visitation will be two hours prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be given to American Cancer Society.
