Nadine J. Wilcox, 80, of Groton, died Saturday, March 26, 2016 at the Groton Regency. She was born on February 9, 1936, to Lynton and Janette (Rafuse) Wilcox, spending much of her life in Noank. She was a champion baton twirler and, in competitions, won at least 30 medals and 4 trophies. She was a cat fancier throughout her life and never ran short of cat stories.
Employed for many years at Hartford National Bank in Mystic and New London, she finished her career at Mystic Color Lab.
Later Nadine moved to High Rock Park in Groton. She took pleasure in driving friends on fun outings and enjoying the fellowship of friends at Groton Senior Center. She even traveled to Florida for several winters with her cousin Paul.
She was very grateful for the kind caregivers at Groton Regency where she made multiple stops in later years.
A Celebration of Nadine's life will be held on Thursday, March 31, at Christ United Methodist Church on Hazelnut Hill, Groton. Visitation will begin at 10am at the church followed by a Funeral Service at 11am. Burial will immediately follow in Elm Grove Cemetery, Mystic.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Christ United Methodist Church.
