Renato F. Tavares, age 82, of Fall River passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Fenais da Luz, São Miguel, Açores, he was the son of the late Manuel R. and Maria Dos Anjos Tavares, and husband of the late Maria Dos Anjos (Duarte) Tavares. He was an avid and talented carpenter and a retired employee of Quaker Fabric. Renato was a founding member of the Our Lady of Light Club and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his children; Ann “Analia” Colicchio and her husband Neil, Fatima M. Silvia, Marie Leonor Pickering and her husband Daniel, Ronald M. and Steven M. Tavares, grandchildren; Amanda, Allyson, Neil, Nicholas, many nieces and nephews and brother; John M. Tavares. He was also the brother of the late Ludgero Tavares.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Friday here at 10 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Michael’s Church at 11 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours on Thursday from 4-8 P.M.
