Pearl Hanicak, 95, passed away March 23 at the home of her son in Hamlin.
Born June 14, 1920, she was married to Joseph Hanicak for 32 years until he passed away on Jan. 26, 1978. She was the daughter of the late Peter and Mary Rubel Pietrewicz.
Pearl, known as Nana by all who knew her, was a loving and caring person. She was a member of Scranton's Senior Club. She gained many friends there and would dance the night away with them. She once said, "I had a good life, lots of fun and always had a house full of babies." She was very blessed and loved dearly.
She is survived by two sons, Joseph and wife, Joan of Alexandria, Va.; David and wife, Lonnie, of Hamlin; and her youngest sister, Irene Ivankovich; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church at Holy Cross Parish, Olyphant. Interment will be at Holy Ghost Cemetery, Blakely. Friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Michael P. Glinsky Funeral Home, 129 Grant St., Olyphant.
