Obituary

WESTBROOK - Tracy M. Hansen Sr., 78, of Westbrook, passed away peacefully on March, 27, 2016, after a brief illness at the Hospice House in Scarborough. He was born in Portland on March 9, 1938, the son of George and Harriet (Hynes) Hansen. On April 19, 1963, at the First Baptist Church in Portland, he married Charlene Moore, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage and raised five sons. Tracy served eight years in the 112th AVN company. He attended aircraft maintenance school at Fort Rucker, Ala. In 1961 he graduated as a helicopter mechanic. He was employed for 40+ years as a sales man for Soule Glass and later Satelite Autoglass. He was a life long fan of the Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics and the New England Patriots. He was also an avid golfer, who during family tournaments earned the nickname "Buzzy the Bomber". He was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Roland Hughes, of South Portland and a sister-in-law, Betty McKaque, of Portland. He is survived by and will be greatly missed by his wife, Charlene (Moore) Hansen of Westbrook; his children, Tracy Hansen Jr. of Windham, Tim Hansen of Windham, Dwane Hansen of Westbrook, David Hansen of South Portland, and Craig Hansen and his fiance Jules Warren of Westbrook; his grandchildren Ashley Jones of Westbrook, Corey Williams of Westbrook, and Samantha Hansen of South Portland; his brothers and sister, Ed and Toni Hansen of Orlando, Fla., George and Margaret Hansen of Florida, and Bill and Joyce Stiles of Cumberland, brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Joyce Crowe of South Portland, Donna and David Harmon of South Portland and Joan Hughes of South Portland; many special and wonderful nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Dexter the family dog, who he fed cheerios to every morning for breakfast. His family greatly appreciated and would like to thank the wonderful nurses and staff in the C.I.C.U. on the 9th floor at Maine Medical Center and at the Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough. There will be a graveside service on Thursday, March 31, at 1 p.m. at Brooklawn Cemetery, 2002 Congress St., Portland. Under the direction of Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Services of Buxton.
