Obituary

Anne H. Charland, 74, of Woonsocket died Tuesday March 15, 2016 at Landmark Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Rosaire E. “Rosy” Charland. They were married on March 25, 1977.
Born in Montpelier, Vermont and raised in nearby Waterbury she was a daughter or the late Kenneth and Bertha (Joslyn) Longe. She was a resident of Woonsocket since 1975 and had previously lived in the Worcester and Dudley, MA areas.
In her earlier years Anne worked for Consolidated Freightliners in Worcester and continued working for a number of businesses in the Blackstone Valley area providing secretarial and bookkeeping services. She was later employed by the Woonsocket School Department for many years as a secretary at the Kendrick Elementary school where she was a valued and treasured member of the administration.
Anne was very musically inclined and played a number of instruments including piano, organ and flute. A gifted artist she also created many paintings.
Anne had a special way about her in that she took everybody she met “under her wing”, her kindness and love is her lasting legacy.
Anne is survived by her son Kenneth White of Woonsocket, step-son Glenn R. Charland and his partner, Curtis, of Las Vegas, NV. Her daughters Deanna Gingrich-Creighton of Michigan, Cheryl A. Taylor and her partner, Aimee Taylor, of Richmond, RI., and step-daughters Lisa Barnum and her husband, David, of FL, Darleen Frances McKinstry of Richmond, NH and Debra Cammorata and her husband, Christopher, of FL., Maureen Goodrow and her husband Jeff of MA and Lynne Vance and her husband Gabe of FL. She was the sister of Bryce Longe and his wife, Debra, of Vermont, Drenna Phillips and her husband, Jim, of Hawaii, Marcia Higgins and her husband, Harry, of Maine. She is also survived by her grandchildren Ruby Kate Taylor, Stephen and Kayla Creighton, Rebecca Barnum and the late Joshua Barnum, and great- grandchildren Teagan Olivia Dunn and Landon Joshua Barnum.
