Mrs. Jeannette Bishop O’Steen, 98, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Shiloh Personal Care Home in Ocilla.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Pine Level United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dan Williamson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held 1:30 PM, Monday, April 4, 2016 at Boynton Beach Memorial Park in Boynton Beach, Florida.
Mrs. O'Steen was born February 26, 1918, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, to the late Charles Edward & Minnie Register Bishop. She was a homemaker and lived in Miami, Florida for over 50 years as well as Boynton Beach, Florida. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Coconut Grove, Florida where she held the office of Ruth. She was a member of Pine Level United Methodist Church, joining at the age of 11. She was a former member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Coral Gables, Florida where she also taught children’s Sunday school.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Lorraine Nichols and her husband Dennis of Miami, Florida; her granddaughters: Nancy Denise DeLory and her husband Mark, Patricia Ann Arrango and her husband Juan, and Deborah Lorraine Arca and her husband David; eight great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Herschell O’Steen; one brother; and one sister.
