FALL RIVER… Robert J. Jackson, 72, of Fall River, passed away March 25, 2016 at Our Lady’s Haven in Fairhaven.
He was the loving husband of Florence (Soares) Jackson.
Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late James A. and Alice M. (Kelly) Jackson and was a lifelong resident of this city.
Prior to his retirement in 2008 as a maintenance man with Shaw’s for 12 years, Mr. Jackson had worked at the Highland Manor Nursing Home for 5 years, at the Swansea and Dartmouth Malls and drove busses for the Union Street Bus Company for 13 years. He was formerly active in the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and St. Anne’s Fellowship. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
Along with his wife, survivors include 3 daughters: Joanne Jackson of Lorton, VA, Kathleen Jackson of Fall River & Ellen McCabe ( Thomas) of Fall River, a son: Michael Jackson (Debi) of Westport, 5 grandchildren: Christopher McCabe, Brandon Jackson, Zachary McCabe, Joshua Maltais and Tyler Maltais, his cousins: Ellen, Anthony, Kelly, Russell, Donald and Ada, his granddaughter by heart: Kaisey Kennedy, his sister and brother in-laws and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the first floor staff at Our Lady’s Haven and Beacon Hospice Care for the compassionate care they gave “their Bobby”.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Wednesday at 9:30 AM from the Boyko Memorial Funeral Home, 709 Broadway, Fall River followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at Holy Trinity Parish, 951 Stafford Rd. Fall River, MA 02721. Cremation to follow. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 5-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s name can be made to Our Lady’s Haven, First Floor Resident’s Activity Fund, C/O Lisa Cadime, 71 Center St. Fairhaven, MA 02719.
