FALL RIVER… Laurinda T. (Rodrigues) Teixeira, 91, of Southpointe Nursing Home, Fall River, formerly of Westport, passed away March 24, 2016 at Charlton Memorial Hospital.
She was the widow of Guilherme Teixeira.
Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Pedro and Laura (Tavares) Rodrigues.
Mrs. Teixeira worked as a seamstress at various shops around Fall River and was a communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and crocheting.
She is survived by her son, William Teixeira and his wife Janice of Fall River, her grandson, William Teixeira, III, her step granddaughter, Amy Padilla, 2 great grandchildren, Thomas Teixeira and Lori Teixeira, a great great granddaughter Korallee Teixeira, her sister, Alzira Costa of Little Compton several nieces and nephews. She was grandmother of the late Brenda Teixeira and sister of the late Emilia Manica.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Tuesday at 9 AM from the South Coast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant St. Fall River, MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Bernadette’s Parish, 529 Eastern Ave. Fall River. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Monday from 5 - 8 PM.
