Mary T. (Sullivan) O’Reilly, age 92, of Brockton, died peacefully, March 18, 2016 at St. Joseph Manor. Mary was the wife of the late Joseph O'Reilly. A life-long Brocktonian, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Catherine (Beaton) Sullivan. Mary was a graduate of Bridgewater State College and taught for over forty years in Brockton schools, most recently as a reading specialist at the Hancock School. She was a devoted teacher and continued to work as a substitute after her retirement.
Her winning smile, humorous quips, and joyful spirit will be missed by her children, Kathleen Vlaco of Easton, Paul O'Reilly and his wife Margaret of Braintree, Mary Ann Carnes and her husband Gerry of Hingham and Sue O'Reilly McRae and her husband Jim of Warwick, MA; seven grandchildren, Brian and Colleen Carnes, Peter Vlaco, Liam and Dana McRae and Joseph and Anthony O’Reilly; six great-grandchildren and her many friends and colleagues. She was the sister of the late Fred Sullivan Jr. and Catherine Cotter.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, March 28th from 3-7pm at the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St., (Rte 123) Brockton. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Tuesday at 9:30am for a funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Brockton at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers donations in Mary’s name may be made to The Patient's Activity Fund at St. Joseph's Manor, 215 Thatcher St Brockton, MA 02302.
