TEWKSBURY - John P. Nickerson, age 24, a lifelong Tewksbury resident, died Wednesday
morning, June 29, from injuries sustained in a single car accident on Whipple road in Tewksbury.
He was born in Winchester, November 20, 1980, a son of Linda (Oteri-Nickerson) Lien of
Townsend and Richard Nickerson of Tewksbury, with whom he was residing. He was raised in
Tewksbury, and attended Tewksbury Memorial High School. He was active in both Tewksbury
Youth Sports Association’s hockey and baseball leagues, as well as the T.M.H.S. hockey and
baseball teams. He was currently a member of the Lowell Softball League the Suppa’s, an avid golfer, and was a
lifelong Boston Red Sox fan.
He was employed as a manager at Market Basket in Pinehurst, and had worked in the meat
department at several other Market Basket locations.
In his earlier years, he was a communicant of the Holy Family (St. Marie's) Church in SOuth Lowell, and more recently St. William's Church in Tewksbury.
Besides his parents, he is survived by a step-mother, Carol (Laurie) Nickerson of Tewksbury; a
step-father, Andrew Lien of Townsend; a sister and brother-in-law, Michelle and Hector Moro of
Dracut; a brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Gia (Saraceni) Nickerson of Hudson, NH; a
niece, Sera Nickerson; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
His Funeral Mass was held Saturday, July 2, in St. William’s Church, Tewksbury.
Interment was in Tewksbury Cemetery. Memorials to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 295 Devonshire St., 4th Floor, Boston,
MA 02110, will be appreciated.
