Grace M. (Sweeney) Gorman, of Brockton, went home to be with the Lord on March 22, 2016 at Life Care Center of W. Bridgewater. She was the wife of the late Paul F. Gorman. Born and raised in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (O’Brien) Sweeney. She was a graduate of Brockton High School and Bridgewater State College where she received her B.S. and Master’s degrees in education. Mrs. Gorman was a teacher in the Whitman, Brookline and Brockton school systems. She was a member of the National Education Association, the Massachusetts Teachers Retirement Board, the Retired Educators Association, and the Retired State and County Employees. Mrs. Gorman and her husband traveled the world and spent many wonderful summers at their home on Cape Cod.
Grace is survived by her two daughters, Faye Graul and her husband Clifford of Fairfax Station, VA and Gayle Heflin and her husband Richard of Mount Airy, MD who loved her dearly and will miss her so. The family wishes to thank her angels on earth – Milli Lesperance, Brenda Lesperance, Georgina Gestick and Norah Lavelle – for all of their wonderful care in her later years.
As she wished, there will be no visiting hours. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9am at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Brockton, followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.
