Obituary

George Francis Butler, 75, passed away unexpectedly Monday, March 21, 2016 following a brief illness.
Born in Rochester, NH, George, affectionately known as “Fran” in his childhood years, was the son of George F. and Margaret (Hunt) Butler. He was raised in the Lakes Region, graduating from Laconia High School in 1959. It was then George enlisted in the US Marine Corps. Stationed in Washington, DC , George served his country as a security guard in the Pentagon. He was honorably discharged in 1963.
Always eager to further his education, George graduated from Plymouth University with a B.Ed degree and a M.Ed from Boston University. He was employed by the Nashua School District for 15 years.
In the early 1980’s, George decided to launch a career change into real estate, specializing in commercial properties. He was a licensed Broker and owner of Butler Realty, LLC in Salem, NH for over 30 years. George took pride in his business and truly relished the friends he made during his tenure in real estate, earning a reputation of expertise and integrity throughout the Salem area.
Those who knew George well will remember his love for his home and property and passion for transforming ordinary spaces into beautiful private viewing areas. ‘Shadowbrook’ was his sanctuary.
George is survived by his wife, Charlotte, with whom he shared his life, hand in hand, for 47 blessed years.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a private celebration of George’s life is being planned for a later date.
