Josephine (Cioci-Jo) Borys, 93, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2016, at Abington Manor Clarks Summit.
Born Sept. 29, 1922, a lifelong resident of Olyphant, Pennsylvania, Josephine attended St. Michael's Parochial School and was a graduate of Olyphant High School. She worked 14 years in the garment industry and 30 years as a production worker at Lockheed Martin, Archbald, where she retired.
Cioci spent a lifetime caring for others within her family and was an avid pinochle player, enjoying many games after Sunday dinner with her family. She was a choir member and an active parishioner of St. Michael the Archangel Church in Olyphant.
She was preceded in death by five sisters, Mary Vadella, Blanche Obrzut, Helen Lavelle, Stella Kraynak, Julie Gardecki; and three brothers, Stanley, Michael T. and Joseph J. Borys.
Her family would like to recognize all the caregivers "angels" at Abington Manor, including Sacred Heart Hospice, for the fantastic care and attention she received during her time of need.
She was blessed with six godchildren, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, that loved her very much as she touched us all, influencing our lives forever.
Funeral services will be Thursday from the Michael P. Glinsky Funeral Home Inc., 129 Grant St., Olyphant, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church at Holy Cross Parish. Interment, St. Michael's Cemetery, Blakely.
Friends and family may call Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m.
