Alyce A. (Akie) Ericson, 84, of Bridgewater formerly of Weymouth, died Wednesday March 23 after a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of Frank W. Ericson.
Born in Weymouth, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Anne (Pearson) Akie. She was raised in Weymouth and was a 1949 graduate of Weymouth High School. After graduating, she worked at the New England Trust Company in Boston, where she met her husband Frank to whom she was married to for 63 years. She also worked in the Hingham Congregational Church office for several years and for the Town of Braintree Engineering Department.
Alyce volunteered as a client advocate for the South Shore Association for Retarded Citizens for many years. Alyce’s kind, loving nature and her wonderful sense of humor will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Her family extends its deepest gratitude to the nurses and caregivers of Hope Hospice and the McCarthy Care Center for their kindness and compassion.
In addition to her devoted husband Frank, she leaves her loving daughters Pamela Clancy and Karen Badzmierowski both of Weymouth, her cherished grandchildren, Brian Badzmierowski of CO., and Sara Badzmierowski of Weymouth.
Family and friends are invited to attend her memorial service to be held Thursday March 31 at 12:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. By request of the family all other services are omitted.
